  • NORTH AMERICA. Protect cross-border ecosystems.

    The Fund supports the conservation of important ecosystems that straddle national frontiers: The Gulf of Maine; the Northern Plains; the Chihuahuan Desert; the Northwest Caribbean; and the Mesoamerican Forest. The Fund is particularly interested in strategies that include both wilderness reserves and working landscapes.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM.

  • NORTH AMERICA. Protect historic legacies in cross-border regions.

    The Fund supports local projects to preserve structures important to cross-border histories. It focuses on areas served by its Environment Program: Gulf of Maine (lighthouses); Northern Plains (prairie churches); Chihuahuan Desert (cliff dwellings); Northwest Caribbean (architecture of Miami and Havana); and the MesoAmerican Forest (Mayan cities).

MIGRATIONS PROGRAM.

  • NORTH AMERICA. Promote NAFTA mobility rights.

    The Fund is investigating the scope and character of a long-term advocacy program to establish the right of citizens of any member country of NAFTA (or an expanded hemispheric version) to reside and work in any other member country.
