ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM.
  • WORLDWIDE. Protect global commons.

The Fund supports a small number of multinational approaches to the conservation of the atmosphere and the high seas.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION PROGRAM.

  • WORLDWIDE. Protect and revive outstanding buildings anywhere.

Each year the Fund will compose a short list of international historic sites of special importance or under imminent threat. One or more of the sites will receive significant support. On the 2003 list are sites in Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Mexico/Guatemala.

MIGRATIONS PROGRAM.

  • WORLDWIDE. Expand a global information service.

Through a major grant to the Migration Policy Institute, the Fund has made possible the creation of a new database and website that track - and assess - the movement of people around the world [http://www.migrationinformation.com]. The Fund will review these efforts in 2003 and consider new, parallel initiatives.
